Tītahi Bay
Wellington / Wairarapa · 2hr session
Start close to town. The bay needs a decent swell to wake up, but when it is on, the corners give long, forgiving rides past the boatsheds.
The capital's after-work coast strung into a day: Titahi Bay's reliable corners twenty minutes from town, Paekakariki's peaks under the escarpment, and Otaki's rivermouth banks with Kapiti Island floating offshore. None of it is world-famous, all of it is fun, and the wind decides the running order.
Day 1 is today. Forecast refreshes every 3 hours.

Twenty minutes up the coast under the escarpment. Shifty beach break peaks that handle the wind better than the bay, with the train line right behind.
Wellington / Wairarapa · 3hr session
Finish at the Otaki rivermouth banks. The most consistent sand on the coast, and the sunset over Kapiti Island is the closer.
